More insects, less meat: the diet of the future

They are called Chapul and protein snacks that are going crazy in America. What is special? Among the ingredients are crickets and cicadas.

A provocation? No. According to some experts in the Old Continent, as is the case in many parts of the world, insects will soon be added to the menu. The reason? They do not pollute and nutritional point of view are healthy. There are about 1,400 edible species. For scholars Dutch university of Wageningen have higher nutritional value of the meat, with the advantage that costs less than the cattle breed, also from the environmental point of view: less consumption of water and a clean cut to the gaseous emissions. I wonder if we will soon see then check the crickets in our flat.
